Precision Rehabilitation–MR3 Network's First Scientific Retreat

Charleston, SC - online | June 29-30, 2021

How do we choose the best rehabilitation interventions for our patients? What makes an intervention better for one patient over another? Patient-specific intervention in rehabilitation is a growing need. Join us for free over two-days as we explore the concept of “precision rehabilitation.” Listen as experts in related fields set the framework for how precision medicine has been successful, hear about resources that may be available from MR3 Centers and funding agencies, and help set the direction for future areas of research and implementation.

Opportunities for Clinicians and Scientists to use Technology to Monitor Real World Outcomes

Online | September 24-29, 2021

C-STAR and the Restore Center will be jointly hosting a symposium titled "Opportunities for Clinicians and Scientists to use Technology to Monitor Real World Outcomes” at the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) 2021. Learn about recent research using single camera video and multimodal sensors for rehabilitation, as well as the resources provided by the Centers to facilitate the use of these technologies within rehabilitation research. The symposium will conclude with a panel discussion amongst all of the participants, where we will invite participants to ask questions about the Centers, the research talks, and the opportunities in other areas of rehabilitation research not discussed.

Austin, TX | November 4-6, 2021

This symposium features renowned researchers and clinicians from around the world, focusing on the emerging field of Regenerative Rehabilitation. This innovative approach combines discoveries in tissue engineering and cellular therapies with rehabilitative treatments, resulting in improved functional outcomes for patients. This symposium encourages the participation of scientists, clinicians and physical therapists who are in the fields of regenerative medicine, engineering, physical medicine, rehabilitation and more. The symposium agenda is designed to create a platform for bridging these areas of expertise in a setting that fosters discussion, interaction, cross-discipline pollination and networking.

NC NM4R Spinal Cord Plasticity in Motor Control Meeting

Charleston, SC–online | December 1 and 4, 2020

This online symposium will focus on the role of activity-dependent spinal cord plasticity in motor control and motor learning in health and disease. The topics addressed will include: spinal cord plasticity during motor learning and in response to trauma and disease; interactions between brain and spinal cord plasticity; physiological and anatomical mechanisms underlying spinal cord plasticity and its impact on behavior; induction and guidance of plasticity in spinal reflex pathways and in corticospinal connections; activity-dependent neuromuscular plasticity; therapeutic applications of spinal cord plasticity; and related subjects.
